LINIAN is excited to announce that our Sales & Export Director, Lynne Jhangeer, has been shortlisted for the Business Woman of the Year award.
Established in 2006, LINIAN pride themselves in doing things differently from their peers. They’re a proud family, Glasgow-based business that challenges the status quo and strives to make buildings a safer place for everyone.
LINIAN are the inventors and manufacturers of fire-resistant metal fixings for use in the construction industry to make cable installations faster, safer and simpler. Simply drill the hole, wrap the clip around the cable, compress the legs and put it in the wall. It’s that easy!
What are the Business Women Scotland Awards?
The Business Awards are a collaborative project between Business Woman Scotland (BWS) and Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) to celebrate the entrepreneurial talents of women across Scotland.
The Business Awards have the support of the Federation of Small Businesses, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Business Gateway and the Grand Central Hotel. Together, the awards recognise the notable contributions that women are making to boost Scotland’s economy and developing a diverse business culture.
Who is Lynne Jhangeer?
Lynne is a strong, established leader who drives the business forward with her brother Ian and along with their parents, Wes and Jean, and the rest of the team - they come together to make up the LINIAN business. Lynne is the visionary within the organisation in terms of culture and leaving LINIAN’s mark on the world.
LINIAN intends to be at the forefront of innovation within the cable management sector in three years and with this ambition in mind it has proved incredibly challenging for Lynne to manage all her roles as an entrepreneur, mother, and wife. She makes sure that any downtime is spent with her family, especially her young son Archie.
Memories, self-belief, integrity, and family are the four drivers that Lynne embraces every day in work and at home to ensure that her family, business and team have the best of everything.
LINIAN is continuing to grow…
LINIAN look set to sell in excess of 3m units in 2017 and have secured distributors in South Africa, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. With their sights on securing partners in the UAE, North America, Russia and rest of Europe it certainly doesn’t look like things will be slowing down anytime soon.
LINIAN prefer to recruit from their local area by working in partnership with organisations such as The Princes Trust, Glasgow Guarantee development fund and also recruiting out with traditional industry hires.
To work for LINIAN you need passion and a determination to challenge the status quo. Don’t take ‘no’ for an answer and show up every day – prepared to take on anything. Team LINIAN can teach you the rest of what it takes to succeed as part of their team.
The awards will take place on the 26th of October at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
