LINIAN Managing Director, Ian Arbuckle is undertaking the Unlocking Ambition International Connections for Growth programme, a five-day immersion into the Silicon Valley ecosystem coordinated by Scotland Can Do, Entrepreneurial Scotland and FutureX.
The programme is designed to continue to build the momentum and network of support for some of Scotland’s most promising, growing businesses. It supports Unlocking Ambition’s objective to build up the entrepreneurial community both within and outside of Scotland, connecting ambitious entrepreneurs to relevant support, to one another, and to opportunities for investment and expansion.
While Ian is in San Francisco, San Mateo and Palo Alto the programme will introduce him to legal experts who have helped scale some of the world’s largest brands including Google and DropBox IPO; leading Scots founders who have vast experience of startups and growth in the Valley; companies and individuals who have first-hand experience of rapid scale and hyper-growth such as Netflix and Twitter; and partner organisations that can share specific skills and techniques around building products, team culture and raising finance.
The combination of location, access, contacts, peers and workshops that the programme offers has the potential to affect every aspect of our business, from employee infrastructure to product roadmap to growth strategy. Being exposed to the world-leading Silicon Valley entrepreneurial ecosystem will provide Ian with a deeper understanding of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors and connections to contacts and resources for future professional use. He will have access to the best insight in the world about scaling and growing companies and the opportunity to interact with the Silicon Valley investment community and cutting-edge technologies.
