LINIAN engages with the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) to bolster operations for significant growth in 2022 – 23 and beyond.
Since May 2022 LINIAN has been experiencing its most significant growth period to date. Fuelled by changing legislation around fire protection, a surge in EV installations, and the biggest rollout of Fibre broadband that we’ve seen in years coupled with a phenomenally supportive customer base and brilliant products it has meant more than a significant increase in output through our factory.
Luckily, our extensive manufacturing and electrical wholesaling backgrounds mean that we have been ready and equipped for this since our inception. It has enabled us to scale quickly and effectively to meet demand. Always keen to work within our company mantra of “Faster. Safer. Simpler” this applies to all areas of our business, not just to how our products are deployed by installers.
We are always looking for ways to make more efficiencies within our processes across the factory, warehouse, and other departments with the transformational change happening in the digital landscape. That is why we decided to reach out to the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) to ensure that our systems and procedure will live up to the stress test of future growth and expansion into new markets.
Who or what is SMAS?
The Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS), works intensively with businesses across all sectors and of all sizes in Scotland, from Shetland to the Borders, across the whole manufacturing supply chain.
Working with SMAS during this time has enabled us to look at the immediate tactical strategies required within the business to support immediate growth as well as longer-term strategic direction as we look out to the next five years. Working with SMAS was vitally important to the Board of Directors to ensure that we were adequately supporting a change in culture, productivity, and behaviours as we transitioned away from a small family business over the last couple of years.
Lynne Jhangeer, Global Commercial Director, had this to say:
“As a result of orders secured in 2022/23, we knew that the business was about to enter a significant growth period over the next five years. We engaged with SMAS early in that journey to ensure that our business remains at the forefront of everything, including our processes. Together with SMAS, we have mapped a direct course of action to support the workforce during this growth designed to take advantage of opportunities to increase productivity, efficiency, and profitability.”
As a proud member of Made In Britain, LINIAN is continuously working on ways to strengthen our position and remain the market leader within our product category across the globe. The support from SMAS has further strengthened this capability and we look forward to continued growth for our business, our people and creating much needed future employment opportunities.
